Day two at the Chatsworth country fair was spent exploring the fine food village and trade stalls. As a lover of fresh, wholesome produce (and baking!) I was in my element; from decadent cakes and sweet treats to savoury pies and locally brewed drinks; there is something for every palate whether  you're a sweet or savoury person.

Delving into the delights of culinary creativeness within the fine food theatre, rows of trade stands line the magnificent landscape with various aromas carried along the breeze from creamy clotted-cream fudge in a variety of flavours and sizzling curries to freshly baked decadent cakes and glorious homemade breads. It's a haven for foodie-lovers. A true collaboration celebrating fine food with a vast variety but all have one thing in common: a passion for excellent food. Exploring the various traders within the fine food village; most offer up small servings and encourage you to try their produce and have a real passion about sourcing their ingredients locally and sustainably.

The AGA Rangemaster cookery theatre showcased some of our favourite chefs demonstrating their culinary expertise including the lovely Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood from BBC's Great British Bake Off.

Glorious sourdough bread that Paul Hollywood would be proud of lines wooden crates with the gentle aroma of freshly baked bread beckons and servings with various oils to dip into tempting the taste buds. There is so much to choose from that you find it almost impossible to know where to start! What's great about the fine food village is that you won't find any of this in your local supermarket which I think makes it really special and unique.

At the press tent, I was treated to pot of freshly brewed tea served in china and a selection of sweet and savoury treats from the Chatsworth Farm Shop. As I was sharing my day on all my social media channels, it can be very thirsty (and hungry!) work. After the press meeting where I was able to meet the wonderful Jessica Ennis-Hill alongside the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire; breakfast was served indulging a selection of Danish pastries. Lunch  was a wonderful arrangement of savoury tarts including salmon and dill, mushroom and a lovely tomato and herb flavour. Afternoon tea saw a collection of beautifully baked cupcakes, the infamous traditional Bakewell pudding and china teapots filled with freshly brewed tea.  I can highly recommend the produce at Chatsworth farm shop as its truly delicious and all the ingredients are sourced locally, sustainably and baked freshly in the farm shop.

One of my favourite parts of scouring the trade stalls was the selection of crafts, home goods and country clothing on offer. From brands such as Joules, Dubarry, Hunter and Rydale to independent rural crafts; Chatsworth Country Fair brings together every aspect of the rural agricultural community. I enjoyed scouring the rural crafts and country home wares such as these stag hooks and gingham lined wicker baskets.

If you embrace the country life and home, then this is the place for you to visit in the heart of the Peak District. Next years dates are: 1st - 3rd September 2017 and you can read more about it here.
