30 Days Wild | Day twenty seven - Draw and colour the countryside.

Colour the Countryside - Elizabeth Anne
Many artists seek inspiration from the countryside from fauna to flora. One such lady from the Edwardian era named Edith Holden created the Country Diary of the Edwardian Lady, which in 1906 recorded her words and illustrations of the changing seasons in the English countryside. Beautifully depicting soft watercolour illustrations and poetic writing make this a truly wonderful book. So for 30 Days Wild, why not gather your pens and pencils and enjoy the relaxing benefits of drawing and colouring?

You don't have to be amazingly talented but simply practising the art helps us to relax and unwind (especially after a long day!) but if that's not your cup of tea, here are a few of my favourite countryside themed adult colouring books:

Secret Garden: An inky Treasure Hunt and Colouring Book - Johanna Basford | Link.
Enchanted Forest: An inky Quest and Colouring Book- Johanna Basford | Link.
Floral Colouring Book - Cath Kidston | Link.
The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady - Edith Holden | Link.
The Colouring Book of Cards and Envelopes - Rebecca Jones | Link.

So find a quite space (maybe outdoors or in your garden) and take inspiration from where you are... it might be a pretty flower, a bumblebee buzzing nearby or the rolling fields; let your imagination go.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
