30 Days Wild | Day twenty four - Practice mindfulness in the countryside.

Ever thought of practising mindfulness outdoors? You don't have to go far, you could simply sit in your garden. Being outdoors (preferably somewhere peaceful) is a great way to practice mindfulness and becoming aware of the present moment. There are many definitions and descriptions of 'mindfulness' and can be a little confusing, however, put simply, it is the awareness of ourselves and the world around us. There are many books, apps and websites devoted to becoming mindful (I have listed a few of my favourites below) and techniques you can employ throughout the day, whether you have 5 minutes or a luxurious whole afternoon to spare.

So what better place to focus on ourselves and our current environment than outdoors? The lush grass beneath our feet, the sunny rays against our skin, the hum of bumblebees and birdsong, the rustle of leaves in the tress... all theses sights, sounds, smells and touch enhance and heighten our senses.
Here are a few of my favourite go-to books and apps that I personally use and find to be the most helpful (and hopefully you will too!) You could sit in the garden and read/listen to these and enjoy being in a beautiful yet peaceful part of the countryside.
