Burt's Bees limited edition lip balm in "Ginger Spice" | £3.99* (Link).
When considering the scents of autumn my mind hazily drifts off into daydreams of freshly baked gingerbread, pumpkin spice, the crisp autumn air and the scent of roasting marshmallows by the fireside. Autumn is truly my favourite season.
Burt's Bees has always been a favourite brand of mine. My first ever purchase was their natural beeswax lip balm that I used religiously and always kept it in my handbag so I could use it while travelling. Now with a whole host of scents to choose from including wild cherry, pink grapefruit and vanilla bean, Burt's Bees add a beautiful sparkly new scent to their range dubbed "ginger spice." Using 100% natural ingredients and ensuring no parabens, phthalates, SLS or petrolatum is used: this is a wonderfully moisturising lip balm that is kind to the skin. Burt's Bees sources natural ingredients and their 30 year strong recipe is a testament to this. Using beeswax, coconut oil, antioxidant-rich vitamin E, cocoa seed butter, sunflower seed oil and shea butter in their lip balms staying true to their concept: "what you put on your body should be made from the best nature has to offer" and I quite agree.
I prefer to apply liberal amounts of lip balm to my lips especially on chilly or windy days. The 4.25g tube fits easily into my handbag or coat pocket so I can apply some while on the go. Additionally, I apply this buttery smooth lip balm before adding a swipe of lipstick or lipgloss to provide my lips with a moisturising treatment. The lip balm glides on effortlessly smooth and feels extremely comforting to the lips with the addition of a gentle aroma enveloping the senses and scents of the season but nevertheless is not overpowering nor a synthetic artificial scent. Ginger Spice is a temptingly delicious array of subtle fragrant notes. Conjuring thoughts of freshly baked gingerbread, the spicy notes of ginger, cardamom, cinnamon and clove blend seamlessly with sweeter notes of butter cookie, marzipan and vanilla spun sugar. With Christmas not too far away, the Burt's Bees lip balms would make a wonderful gift or a stocking filler for a loved one.
