A new year means a fresh start, a whole 365 days of them. So for 2016, here are my resolutions:

I make a batch of these whisky mince pies every year and they always go down a treat with family and friends. They are best served still slightly warm and with a glass of mulled wine. The recipe is fail safe and turns out wonderful every time and the best part? these mince pies can be made in advance (up to 3 months) and placed into tupperware and frozen. When needed, place into the oven and cook for 10 minutes. I have wrote the recipe and instructions, now all you need is a little Christmas music in the background while you bake!

Who can say 'no' to a cute Christmas cupcake? These delicious little treats are a twist on the classic Christmas cake, incorporating mixed fruit, brandy and festive spices with a generous amount of smooth almond buttercream topping. Decorated with sweet Christmas toppers, a sprinkle of glitter and pretty paper cases make these a joy to share with family and friends.

I enjoy reading more personal posts on blogs. I feel I get to learn a little more about the person behind the blog and is great way to connect with readers. I wanted to share a more personal post about myself and thought what better way than to list a few facts about myself. At first, my mind went totally blank (who knew it would be so hard to list facts!) but then I was soon on a roll and narrowed them down to 10 facts. If you love reading these types of posts, please leave me a comment below!

Autumn is one of my favourite seasons, closely followed by Spring. I love watching the flora turn from bright shades to rich and vibrant hues, chilly walks with the pooch and wearing soft knitwear. There is nothing more lovely than curling up by the fire with a delicious hot chocolate topped with a generous amount of cream and marshmallows, a good book or a movie and a huge blanket! Add a little autumn loveliness to your phone with these cute wallpapers and don't forget to let me know by either Tweeting or tag me on Instagram.

Chatsworth House, Bakewell.
Pulling on my Hunter wellies armed with my camera, a spare memory card and my program (not forgetting my Springer Spaniel Ben); I’m ready for day 2 at the Chatsworth Country Fair. Having already had a taster from yesterday (you can read Day 1 at the fair here) where I got the chance to interview the lovely Adam Henson, I decide to spend some time exploring the trade stalls. From country clothing and traditional crafts to artisan food and homemade gifts rows of stalls line the picturesque backdrop of the Chatsworth Estate. The trade stalls play host to many branded goods from Joules and Barbour to Elemis and Neal's Yard but include smaller independent brands.

Chatsworth House, Bakewell.
One of the main highlights of the countryside calendar is the annual Chatsworth Country Fair. Dubbed ‘Palace of the Peaks,’ the Chatsworth Estate is situated in the idyllic Peak District among lush grass, therapeutic sounds of the River Derwent (which runs through the estate) and poetic bird song; the country fair brings together the finest representation of the quintessential British countryside. A fantastic 3-day event for all the family and friends.

Saviour summer with wholesome food, traditional games and soak in the picturesque views. There is nothing more wonderful than setting off into the countryside complete with a wicker picnic basket filled with tasty treats and a soft blanket to lie on and admire the idyllic views. It’s a great way to bring family and friends together especially on a sunny afternoon. Enjoy watching fluffy clouds float by, the sweet scent of flora and escape from everyday stresses. Here I show you a few bright ideas for the perfect picnic.

The new Elvive Nutri-Gloss Luminiser collection from L'oreal promises to give locks an extraordinarily glossy finish. The first ever glycogel enriched haircare range helps locks look perfectly polished without weighing it down. The collection was on offer at Superdrug at an introduction price so I couldn't resist. I have always been a fan of the Elvive Nutri-Gloss range as it has always made my hair feel silky soft and look incredibly luminescent. I look forward to giving this new collection a try.
